Trojans Surge to No. 4 in National Poll

KANSAS CITY, MO. – The Anderson University Men's Basketball program surged to No. 4 in the national poll as announced on Tuesday by the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) for games through Jan. 4, marking yet another program-best ranking as the Trojans continue to rewrite their record books.

12 back-to-back victories by the Black and Gold makes history for Anderson as they enter the Nation's Top 5 for the first time while adding to the program's best start in school history. The Trojans are 12-0 on the season, 6-0 in conference play and remain one of only five undefeated Division II programs in the nation.

In the national poll, Anderson sits behind No. 1 Washburn, No. 2 Daemen, and No. 3 Nova Southeastern while also being joined in the Top 25 by fellow South Atlantic Conference opponent No. 24 Lenoir-Rhyne for the first time this season.

Anderson recently topped nonconference opponent Clayton State 73-62 before surging past fellow SAC opponent Wingate 73-60 to notch their 11th and 12th consecutive victories. The Black and Gold previously defeated nonconference opponents Erskine, Emmanuel, Eckerd, the University of Tampa and Bob Jones while also recording victories over SAC opponents Emory & Henry, Mars Hill, Carson-Newman, Newberry, and Lincoln Memorial.

The Trojans seek to continue making history on Wednesday, Jan. 7 when they host fellow SAC opponent Coker at 7:30 p.m.
