WISE, Va. -- The Trojans rallied from a deficit as large as 18-points in the first half but were unable to close the gap all the way, falling 69-66 to UVA Wise (10-6, 7-3 SAC) on Saturday afternoon. Anderson moves to 7-9 overall and 3-7 in the South Atlantic Conference.

Jonathon Barbaree said. "Loved the fight in the fourth. We have to pick ourselves up dust ourselves off and get right back after it."
The Trojans struggled to gain offensive momentum in the first half after going up 11-9 early. They were down 41-25 at the half, but came out of the locker room on a 13-2 run. They won the quarter 14-10.
Anderson had their best ten minutes in the final quarter, winning it 27-18. They went 12-12 at the line and came within one with nine seconds to play at 67-66. They gave up two fouls coming out of the timeout and the Cavaliers put away two free throws to secure the win.
As a team, the Trojans shot 31 percent from the field while UVA Wise shot 45.6 percent. Anderson went 3-13 from deep but 19-22 from the line.
The Cavaliers won the boards 47-39 while Anderson forced 20 turnovers and gave up just seven of their own, a season-low for the Trojans.
Graduate student
Ciara Harris (Alexandria, Va.) dropped 18 points and seven rebounds along with four steals. She shot 6-14 from the field.
Sophomore
Jaida Brooks (Phoenix, Ariz.) came off the bench for her second-straight 12-point game.
Junior
Kyla Cain (Atlanta, Ga.) had 10 points with four rebounds, three steals and two blocks.
Senior
Ashlyn Sheridan (Knoxville, Tenn.) came up with eight points and five rebounds.
Senior
Khiara Flugence (Boerne, Texas) came off the bench for six points and six rebounds in just 14 minutes of play.
The Trojans will look to bounce back on Wednesday, Jan. 21, when they head to Lenoir-Rhyne University for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
