ROCK HILL, S.C. – The Anderson University football team has been selected to finish eighth at the end of the season according to the 2025 South Atlantic Conference preseason poll as selected by the league's head coaches and announced the conference on Monday, August 4.
In the second year of the program, the Trojans were tabbed for an eighth place finish. Playing with a roster made of mostly underclassmen, the Trojans had a highly successful inaugural season. They won three games overall and one in the league and took Lenoir-Rhyne to the last play in the final game of the season before falling on a field goal. Anderson returns the majority of its team from a season ago with added depth.
In addition to their ranking, six players were named Players to Watch by the coaching staff. For Anderson those players were:
Tyler Wesley (QB),
Jalon Warthen-Carr (WR),
Kamron Burris (OL),
Jerrod Woods (LB),
Carter Wit (DB),
Colton Smith (DL).
The Trojans kick off their 2025 campaign as they make the trip to Rome, Ga. to take on the Hawks of Shorter University in the first of two out of conference match-ups to start the season.
