Trojan’s Release 2025 Cross Country Schedule

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University's Director of Cross Country/Track & Field Kevin Eagle has announced the schedule for the upcoming fall on Wednesday. The lineup includes three races before the South Atlantic Conference Championships in Greeneville, Tenn. on Oct. 25.

"With this season's schedule, we are being pretty aggressive when it comes to competition on both sides.  We are only going to 3 regular season meets, but all 3 will have strong competition," said Eagle.

After a strong performance during the 2024 season with both the men and women earning top five finishes and All-Conference honors at the SAC Championship, the Trojans begin competition close to home at the Bulldog Stampede in Wingate, N.C. on Sept. 20.

"We intend to open up the season at Wingate, who has placed top 2 in the country the past 3 years.  This meet will serve as our NCAA Regional course preview for us.  With this being the location and course of NCAA regionals in November, the focus is to solely to learn the course and get familiar with it," added Eagle.

The Trojans will then travel to Kenosha, Wis. for the Lucian Rosa Invitational on Sept. 27 before heading to Romeoville, Ill. for the Lewis Crossover on Oct. 11. The Black and Gold return home for the SAC Cross Country Championships that will take place on Oct. 25 in Greeneville, Tenn.

"The next two competitions will be the largest meets in the country for D2 all year long.  The Lucian Rosa Invitational will serve as the NCAA national championship preview meet.  Most of the top teams in all of D2 will travel to compete there that weekend as they want to see the course before they race it in November at NCAA's.  Our last regular season meet will be at Lewis University right outside Chicago.  This meet has become the largest regular season meet in all of D2 the last few years.  Last year, more than half the teams who competed at nationals traveled to this meet.  Our goal for these two meets is to see where we stacked nationally against some of the best teams in the entire NCAA."

The NCAA Regional Championships take place two weeks later (Nov. 8) in Wingate, N.C. followed by the NCAA National Championships in Kenosha, Wis. on Nov. 22.

"We are loaded with talent on both sides, so we want to make it known that Anderson is ready to compete with the best of them.  We have big goals for the season for both teams.  This schedule will allow us to gain huge amounts of experience while gaining confidence against the best the NCAA has to offer."
