ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans celebrated their lone senior,
Blaine Randolph (Charlotte, N.C.), in style on Saturday afternoon with a 21-2 win over Mars Hill University to move to 10-6 overall and 8-2 in the South Atlantic Conference. The game was their last regular season home game as they prepare for the South Atlantic Conference Championship which begins next Saturday, April 26.
The Trojans went unanswered until the last two seconds of the second quarter to go into the locker room up 13-1. They tacked on another eight in the second half with the Lions getting just one more on the day. The Trojans had 33 shots on goal to the Lions' two, won the draw 17-8 and were 16-18 in clears while Mars Hill was 8-16.
Randolph came up with a career-high four points on her Senior Day, with a career-high three goals and one assist.Â
Ava Scattareggia (Watervliet, N.Y.) and
Ellie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) had five points with three goals and two assists each. Wilkins picked up two draw controls while Scattareggia had one draw control and one ground ball.
Ava Skeffington (Charlotte, N.C.) also came up with a hat trick with three goals on five shots.Â
Megan Cann (Rancho Murieta, Calif.) tied her career-high of two goals with one assist. She picked up two ground balls and led the team in draw controls with four.
Emma Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and
Edie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) added two goals each.
Makayla Ott (Myrtle Beach, S.C.),
Jerianne Morris (New Port Richey, Fla.) and
Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) rounded out the scoring for the Trojans.
Muir was big on defense as well with five caused turnovers, three draw controls and three ground balls.
Meredith Dawson (Beavercreek, Ohio) tied her career-high of four caused turnovers in the win and picked up a team-high five ground balls.
The Trojans finish the regular season on Wednesday, April 23 when they head to Newberry University for a 4:00 p.m. contest.Â
