GREENWOOD, S.C. -- Anderson men's golf team made the short trip to Greenwood for Lander's Bearcat Classic this week, finishing 13th in a field of 19 teams. After a delayed start to open Day 1, the tournament was split with 27 holes played one each of the two days.
The Trojans finished Round 1 at +5 with senior Jamie Markwick (Bishop's Waltham) shooting the only under-par round of the tournament for the Black and Gold at +3. The scoring deteriorated as the play went on, with AU shooting a +11 second round and a +19 final round.
Markwick led the team, finishing 21st overall at +1. He was followed by James Parsons (London, U.K.) who carded back-to-back two-over rounds to start and finished 50th at +9.
The Trojans look to bounce back in two weeks at the Ralph Hargett Memorial hosted by Wingate in Monroe, N.C.
