ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans topped the Coker University Cobras 18-4 in their highest-scoring game of the season on Saturday afternoon. Their fourth straight win takes their overall record to 6-4 as they remain undefeated in the South Atlantic Conference 4-0.
"That was a great team win," head coach
Nicole Voci said. "We started off slow but started to find our groove in the second quarter. We are excited to keep up the hard work and keep the energy rolling through conference play."
The Trojans had a big first half, going into the locker room up 14-3. They held the Trojans to just one goal in the second half. They were a perfect 18-18 in clears and picked up 15 ground balls to Coker's five.
Nine Trojans got on the board, led by
Ava Scattareggia (Watervliet, N.Y.) and
Brooke Kelley (Anderson, S.C.) with four goals each. Kelley was perfect on the day with four goals on four shots for her career-high. Scattareggia added two assists.
Emme Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) had a great day on both sides of the ball with two goals, one assist and four draw controls.
Blaine Randolph (Charlotte, N.C.) and Makayla Ott (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) came up with a career-high two goals each.
Ava Skeffington (Charlotte, NC.),
Emery Robson (Marietta, Ga.),
Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) and
Jerianne Morris (New Port Richey, Fla.) also buried a goal each.
Sophia Fair (Charlotte, N.C.) made her first appearance in goal for the Trojans in the second half and came up with three saves.
The Trojans stay home next week as they host No. 25 Limestone University on Wednesday, April 2 at 4 p.m.
