Trojan 11-0 Run Leads To 17-9 Win Over Lincoln Memorial

HARROGATE, TN -- The Trojans were dominant in a 17-9 win over Lincoln Memorial on Wednesday afternoon to move to 2-0 in the South Atlantic Conference. After going down 6-2 early, Anderson rallied to score 11 unanswered and win the last three quarters 12-3 for a season-high 17-goal win. 

"This was a great win for our team on the road," said head coach Nicole Voci. "We showed grit, composure, and the ability to execute under pressure. Starting 2-0 in conference play is exciting, but we know as a young team, there's still work to do. We'll enjoy this one and get right back to it."

The Trojans tied their season-high with 12 draw controls, and picked up a season-high 22 ground balls. They were a perfect 5-5 in free position goals and 21-21 in clears. 

Ava Skeffington (Charlotte, N.C.) tied her season-high for the third time with five goals, her fifth hat trick of the season. 

Ellie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) dropped a career-high four goals and one assist for five points. Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) was the third Trojan to put up a hat trick with three goals on five shots. She picked up four ground balls and four draw controls with two caused turnovers. 

Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans was Ava Scattareggia (Watervliet, N.Y.), Jackie Tiongco (Memphis, Tenn.), Blaine Randolph (Charlotte, N.C.) with her first career goal, Emma Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and Brooke Kelley (Anderson, S.C.).

On defense, Amelia King (Dacula, Ga.) came up with four saves for a .308 save percentage. Meredith Dawson (Beavercreek, Ohio) picked up a career-high six ground balls and had three caused turnovers. Edie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) was huge at the draw with a career-high six draw controls. 

Scattareggia and Ellie Wilkins opened the scoring for the Trojans before the Railsplitters went on a 6-0 unanswered run early. Wilkins, Skeffington , and Muir all buried two in the following 11-0 Trojan run before Lincoln Memorial answered early in the fourth quarter. 

The Trojans continue SAC play this weekend when they head to Tusculum University on Saturday, March 22nd at 1 p.m.
