Trojans Round Out Regular Season With 75-46 Win Over Tusculum

GREENEVILLE, TN -- The Trojans finished the regular season in style, with a 75-46 win over Tusculum University. They move to 16-12 overall and 12-12 in the South Atlantic Conference. They will head into the SAC Championships next week as a No. 7 seed, where they will take on No. 2 Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday, March 4th at 2:30 p.m. The Trojans suffered two narrow losses to the Bears this season.

"Tonight was a complete effort from everyone," head coach Jimmie Williams said. "Proud of how we competed in a must win game. Guys were hungry and aggressive and kicked I to the scout. Dallas Jones led the way and brought a ton to of energy. Proud of his growth. No one works harder than him. Cole Sam and Webb had big nights as well. We are capable of doing great things when we defend and rebound like that."

The Trojans gained control early and held it for the entire game, going up 39-18 by halftime. They shot 49.0 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from deep. They held the Pioneers to a 27.5 shooting percentage from the field and 22.2 shooting percentage from behind the arc.

Dallas Jones (Gainesville, Fla.) dropped a career-high 26 points to lead the Trojans, shooting 9-11 from the field and 6-7 from the line. He added six rebounds and two assists.

Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) came up with 14 points and seven rebounds while AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) had 10 points and six assists.

Sam Perez (Apex, N.C.) pulled down seven boards and dished out five assists. Caleb McAbee (Saint Johns, Fla.) added nine points while Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) put up eight points and six rebounds.

"We are so excited to get to Rock Hill," Williams said. "This league is so good top to bottom but truly anyone can win it. Always good going into post season play with a game like tonight to build momentum from. I love this team."
