SALISBURY, N.C. -- Anderson couldn't repeat the win from earlier this season on the road at Catawba College, falling to the Catawba Indians 87-77. The Trojans move to 12-10 overall and 8-10 in the South Atlantic Conference where they are sitting in the critical eighth-place spot as the season begins to wind down.
"Tough battle tonight. We had a few big possessions tonight to get the game flipped but weren't able to get the stops necessary," head coach
Jimmie Williams said.  "They are always hard to beat, especially at their place. They got us a few times late in the paint. We will fix it. Proud of our effort and the way we always stay together. We are building, and I know we'll peak at the right time. I love this team."
The Trojan offense was efficient, but couldn't put up enough shots to match Catawba. They shot 53.1 percent from the field and 45.5 percent from deep with 10 triples. They were outshot from the field 34 to 26 which would be the difference maker.Â
The Trojans were down 39-33 going into the locker room after nine lead changes in the first half. They were unable to regain a lead in the second half despite making it a one point game seven minutes in at 49-48.
AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) led the offense with 19 points and six assists on 6-13 shooting.Â
Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) dropped 15 points with four triples.
Sentinel Moore (Oklahoma City, Okl.) came off the bench for a career-high 13 points, three rebounds and two blocks.
Sam Perez (Apex, N.C.) came up with 13 points and four rebounds.
Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) led the defense with seven boards.Â
The Trojans have a big midweek test when they head to No. 21 Lenoir-Rhyne for a 7:30 p.m. tip-off on Wednesday, Feb. 12th.Â
