HICKORY, N.C. -- The Trojans faced 14 lead changes but were unable to top No. 16 Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday night as they move to 12-11 overall and 8-11 in the South Atlantic Conference play.
Anderson was up 32-31 at the half and continued to battle, tying things up at 54 eight minutes into the second half before the Bears gained complete control.
The Trojans shot 48.5 percent from the field and 34.5 from deep. They outshot the Bears from deep but couldn't top their 57 percent shooting from the field.
Dallas Jones (Gainesville, Fla.) was just one short of his career-high with 21 points in 27 minutes of play. He shot 8-12 from the field and added three rebounds, three assists and one steal.
Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) came up with 17 points, three rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Caleb McAbee (Saint Johns, Fla.) continued his hot streak with 14 points off the bench on four triples, tying his career-high.
Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) dropped 11 points and eight rebounds while
Sentinel Moore (Oklahoma City, Okl.) also pulled down eight rebounds.
The Trojans are home this weekend to take on Mars Hill University on Saturday, Feb. 15th at 4:00 p.m.
