Trojans Fall Short of Limestone in Friday Matchup, 12-7

ANDERSON, S.C. – Rounding out their second week of action on the diamond in their 2025 campaign, the Anderson University (3-2) baseball team dropped a hard fought 12-7 decision to the Saints of Limestone University (3-2) on Friday, February 7.

Sophomore Zach Stover (Powdersville, S.C.), junior Braeden Harrison (Spartanburg, S.C.) and sophomore Carson Molinaroli (Summerville, S.C.) each recorded a pair of hits in the contest with Molinaroli leading the way with a pair of RBIs on the night. Stover and Harrison, along with junior Kyle Caccamise (Hopewell Junction, N.Y.) and junior Gray Wells (Chapin, S.C.) recorded the other RBIs for the Trojans.

Limestone was able to get on the board in the top of the first, but the Trojans responded with a pair of runs of their own in the bottom of the frame. Stover and Wells recorded a double and a single, respectively, in the frame to drive in a run each, giving Anderson the 2-1 lead. Limestone continued their consistency over the opening innings, posting a run in each of the first four innings while Anderson added another in the bottom of the fourth, making it a 4-3 advantage for the Saints.

Limestone added a four-spot to the scoreboard in the top of the fifth to open the contest up while the Trojans were able to bring the gap back down to just three runs with a pair of runs in the bottom of the fifth, with Limestone continuing to lead 8-5 after five.

Each squad added a run in the seventh, but Limestone recorded three more runs to their tally in the eighth, extending their lead to 12-6. Though the Trojans were able to scratch across a run in the ninth, their comeback bid would fall short, dropping the 12-7 decision.
