Trojans Top Limestone 97-68 to Secure Season Sweep

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans snagged their second win of the season over Limestone University, topping the Saints 97-68 at home on Wednesday night. Anderson moves to 12-9 overall and 8-9 in the South Atlantic Conference with the win.

Anderson shot an impressive 54.1 percent from the field and 50.0 percent from deep, winning the boards 46- 27.

"Thrilled with our effort tonight. Hughes and McKay are two of the best players in our league. It takes everyone to slow them down, and we battled," head coach Jimmie Williams said.

The Trojans maintained a lead for the entire contest, building a 17-point lead in the first 20 minutes to go into the locker room up 47-30.

Caleb McAbee (Saint Johns, Fla.) had a career night, coming off the bench for a career-high in points (16), triples, (four) and rebounds (six).

Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) led the offense with 22 points on 9-13 shooting and four triples. He added five rebounds and one steal.

Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) came up with his fourth double-double of the season, tying his season-high of 14 rebounds and 19 points.

AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) dished out 13 assists, adding seven points, three rebounds and three steals.

Jacksen Greco (Canton, Ga.) came off the bench for a season-high 16 points and six rebounds.

"Cole and Webb played like vets, and sparked us on both ends," Williams said. "Really proud of our bench tonight. Greco and Caleb were ready to go when they got their numbers called and made the presence felt. Holding a team like that under 70 is hard to do. Proud of our defense. When we get stops like that it really ignites our transition offense which was incredible tonight. Proud of our team, and excited to get back to it tomorrow. Big one on the road Saturday. I love this team."

The Trojans hit the road to take on Catawba College this Saturday Feb. 8th at 4:00 p.m.
