Trojans Get Third Straight Win On Senior Day

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans celebrated the careers of their five seniors, Wade Pearce, Ian Thomson, Case Roach, Austin Webb and Jacksen Greco, with a 79-74 win over Emory & Henry on Saturday afternoon. Anderson moves to 15-11 and 11-11 in the South Atlantic Conference with the win. The Trojans currently sit at seventh place in the conference standings as the season heads into its final week.

"Senior night is always a special night," head coach Jimmie Williams said. "Proud of our seniors and thankful for their impact on me and my family. This will forever be home for all 5 of them. Fitting that a few seniors led us in scoring. Webb and Greco both played really well tonight. Ian and Wade both gave us big nights as well. Happy we were able to get our 10th home win of the season . It truly is a huge advantage playing in front of our crowd. This was a big 2-0 week we needed. I love this team."

The Trojans outshot the Wasps from the field 48.1 percent to 38.8 percent, though Emory & Henry made a push late, winning the second half 52-41. But it wasn't enough and the Trojans never lost the lead they gained early in the first half.

Senior Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) dropped 18 points to lead the Trojans offense along with seven rebounds.

Senior Jacksen Greco (Canton, Ga.) was just one shy of his season-high with 15 points in 25 minutes of play along with two rebounds.

Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) came up with 13 points on 5-6 shooting from the field and three rebounds, while AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) put up 11 points and five assists.

Though the home season is over the Trojans have one full week of competition remaining before the SAC Championships. They will head to Newberry College on Wednesday, Feb. 26 for a 4:00 p.m. tip-off.
