ANDERSON, S.C. -- After a week of rescheduling and location changes, the Trojans opened their 2025 season hosting Lander University, falling 13-6 to the Bearcats who are now three games deep in their season.
"This is just the beginning for us," first year head coach
Nicole Voci said. "We have a lot of new faces and new systems, and this is all part of the learning process. We will take the lessons from this game, keep improving and come back stronger."
The Trojans took an early 3-0 lead, but Lander quickly shut them down and turned up their offense, winning the next three quarters 10-3.

Rayne Dobson (Houston, Texas) opened the Trojans' scoring for the season in the third minute from the stick of newcomer
Ellie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) who tacked on a goal of her own in the second period.
Emma Toole (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) tallied a goal early as well, with two caused turnovers and one ground ball on the night as well.
Ava Skeffington (Charlotte, N.C.) dropped her first of two goals in the tenth minute, adding her second in the third period to pull the Trojans within four at 9-5. Skeffington led the offense with 11 shots and eight on goal, adding an assist for three points in the contest.
Brooke Kelley (Anderson, S.C.) added a goal and an assist, scoring the Trojans' final goal of the game late in the third period.
The Trojan offense as a whole came up with 25 shots and 19 on goal, while the Bearcats had 29 shots and 20 on goal.
Amelia King (Dacula, Ga.) had seven saves and two ground balls on the night.
Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) came up with five of the Trojans' eight draw controls, a statline Lander had control of with 13 of 21. Muir also led Anderson with three caused turnovers and three ground balls.
The Trojans are back in action next Saturday, Feb. 22 when they host UVA Wise in their SAC opener at 1:00 p.m.
