No. 10 Lincoln Memorial Tops Trojans At Home

ANDERSON, S.C. -- The Trojans couldn't keep up with No. 10 Lincoln Memorial University in their second meeting of the season, falling 91-73. The Railsplitters sweep the season series as they remain a force in the national poll. The Trojans move to 11-9 and 7-9 in the South Atlantic Conference.

The Trojans had a solid offensive first half, shooting 53.8 from the field and 62.5 percent from deep, to go into the locker room down just 47-43. But the Railsplitter defense stepped up in the second half, keeping Anderson to 40.6 percent shooting from the field 28.5 from deep.

"Proud of how hard we played today. Both teams ran clean offense in the first half, and I knew it would come down to which team settles in on defense. They made more plays than we did defensively and on top of that they shot the cover off the ball. We will clean up what we need to Monday," head coach Jimmie Williams said.

Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) came up with 23 points on 9-14 shooting with a career-high five triples.

Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) came up with 15 points while AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) had 11 points and five assists.

Sentinel Moore (Oklahoma City, Okl.) dropped nine points and came up with a team-high six rebounds.

"Hats off to LMU," Williams said. "That's a really good team that came in and executed better than we did, and they showed why they're ranked what they are. I'm a big fan of Wes and Elijah. Those two play the game the right way and make it tough to game plan. Cole was big for us tonight. He had a great week. Proud of his growth and leadership. Big week ahead. I love this team."

The Trojans are home again this Wednesday, Feb. 5th when they host Limestone University at 7:30 p.m.
