Trojans Tie Program Record with 10-Straight Victories, Surge Past LMU 78-55

ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University Men's Basketball (10-0, 5-0 SAC) defeated fellow SAC opponent Lincoln Memorial (6-5, 3-3 SAC) for the first time since 2013 in a 78-55 victory. The Trojans remain undefeated to tie the program's winning streak record at 10-0 on the season.

"Really proud of our effort tonight." said head coach Jimmie Williams. "Our connection and toughness were the two things we locked in on this week preparing for a really good LMU team."

Anderson took an early lead, keeping LMU scoreless during a 12-point run to advance the score 28-11. Coming out of the half, the Railsplitters attempted to close the gap with an 8-3 run to decrease the Anderson's lead. The Trojans remained controlled and answered the attempt with their largest lead of the game at 26 points to make the score 68-42 before rounding out the final half.

Junior Osmar Garcia-Araujo (Sugar Hill, Ga.) led the Trojans with 20 points on the board, seven rebounds and three blocks while also shooting 70% from the floor and 66.6% from behind the line. Redshirt-senior Kadyn Dawkins (Greensboro, N.C.) delivered a standout performance contributing 19 points to the Trojans total while going 3-for-3 from behind the arc, 4-for-5 from the line and finishing 75% on field-goal attempts. Sophomore Caleb McAbee (Saint Johns, Fla.) also contributed double digit points to the Trojans tally, shooting 2-for-2 from deep and 80% overall while also recording three rebounds. Junior Aj Wright Jr. (Clearwater, Fla.) added five to the teams totals in rebounds and assists while shooting 100% from the line to tally nine points on the game.

The Black and Gold led in all shooting categories, shooting 77.3% from behind the line, 46.4% from the floor and 45% from behind the arc while also tallying 18 fastbreak points on the game. Anderson recorded nine steals and seven blocks to contribute to the Trojans defensive dominance.

"Meant a lot seeing so many alums and friends come out to support today." added Williams. "We miss our Trojan Army who are all on Christmas break, but I love how much our community gets behind our team. We'd like to wish each of you a Merry Christmas to you and your family. I love this team."

The Trojans return after the holiday when they travel to Clayton State for a New Year's Eve nonconference matchup on Wednesday, Dec. 31. Tipoff is slated for noon.
