JEFFERSON CITY, Tenn. -- The Trojans couldn't top the Carson-Newman Eagles on Saturday afternoon, falling 91-66 after the Eagles came up with 62 points in the second half. The Eagles move to 6-3 on the season and 3-1 in the SAC while Anderson is 4-4 with a 1-2 record in the SAC.
The Trojans were unable to gain a lead for the entire game, going into the locker room at halftime down 30-25. The Eagles exploded in the second half, shooting 67.9 percent compared to 30.66 in the first half.Â
The Eagles shot 47.1 percent from the field while the Trojans shot their lowest percentage of the season at 32.8.
Anderson was led by freshman
Ashley Hill (Covington, Ga.) with a career-high 15 points on 5-11 shooting with two triples. She led the Trojans on the boards too with nine rebounds.Â
Senior
Ashlyn Sheridan (Knoxville, Tenn.) followed her up with 11 points and four rebounds.
Graduate student
Ciara Harris (Alexandria, Va.) dropped 10 points on 4-9 shooting.
Junior
Jessica Cooper (South Plainfield, N.J.) came off the bench for a season-high seven points and two rebounds in just three minutes. She was 5-5 from the free throw line.Â
The Trojans will look to bounce back next week as they enter their last week of play before the holiday break when they head to Newberry College on Wednesday, Dec. 17 for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.Â
