Four Trojans Record Double Figures as Anderson Continues Streak With 78-64 Victory on the Road

ST. PEETERSBURG, FL – The Trojans opened their two-game travel series in Florida with a 78-64 win over Eckerd College Monday evening. The third straight win puts Anderson 3-0 to start the season.

"We played hard tonight. Everyone was committed to eachother and to the plan." said head coach Jimmie Williams.

The Trojans started off strong both offensively and defensively, holding the Tritons under 10 with a 16-point lead with just nine minutes left in the half. Eckerd came back from the deficit, scoring 20 points to decrease the Trojans lead to 41-29 as they finalized the first half.

Entering the second half, Anderson continues to hold control with the Tritons attempting to fight back. After scoring the first nine points of the half, the Trojans tallied a 21-point lead over Eckerd.

Four Trojans recorded double figures, leading the Black and Gold in shooting 43% from the floor and maintaining a double-digit lead for the entirety of the second half. Junior Osmar Garcia-Araujo (Sugar Hill, Ga.) led the way for Anderson, scoring 18 points and tallying seven rebounds while also going 2-for-3 from behind the line. Freshman Rashawn Inglemon (Sacramento, Calif.) posted 15 points and recorded six rebounds.

"I love how our team commits. We were far from perfect tonight but we never wavered in out defensive effort or in out belief in each other." added Williams.

Junior Dallas Jones (Gainesville, Fla.) and redshirt senior Kadyn Dawkins (Greensboro, N.C.) added 13 and 10 points to the Trojan's tally. Senior Malachi Reeves (Lexington, S.C.) also aided the Trojans to victory with six rebounds and four assists on the game.

"Our bench had a big impact tonight. We are able to play more guys than we have ever played and not have a drop in our energy production. Proud of our guys, and excited to get back to work for another good opponent Thursday at Tampa. I love this team."

The Black and Gold continue their Florida travel series when they play the University of Tampa on Thursday evening. The game is slated for 7 p.m.
