ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. -- The women's basketball team opened the 2025-26 campaign at the Southeast Region Crossover, battling host Flagler College to a 72-66 decision in favor of the Saints on opening day. Three Trojans hit double-digits in the contest that saw six returners and five newcomers on the court.

The Trojans earned their only two leads of the game early, going up 2-0 and then 9-7 in the first five minutes. Anderson came within as few as one, even going into halftime down just 22-21, but were unable to regain control after that.

As a team, the Trojans shot 37.9 percent from the field, going 22-58 and 3-15 from deep. They were 73.1 percent from the free throw line. The Saints won the boards 43-32 while the Trojans limited their turnovers to 14, compared the Flagler's 19.

Graduate student Ciara Harris (Alexandria, Va.) led the way for the Trojans in her first game with the Black and Gold, putting up 19 points, just three shy of her career-high, on 5-10 shooting and a perfect 9-9 from the line. She grabbed four rebounds.

Senior Ashlyn Sheridan (Knoxville, Tenn.) came up with 12 points on 4-9 shooting with three rebounds.

Junior Kyla Cain (Atlanta, Ga.) flirted with a double-double with 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds and three steals.

The Trojans will look to bounce back tomorrow, Nov. 15th in the second day of the Southeast Region Crossover when they take on Clayton State at 1 p.m.
