JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – Anderson University women's soccer (8-4-2, 5-3-1 SAC) battled it out on the pitch, resulting in a 1-1 tie against Carson-Newman (7-4-3, 3-3-3 SAC) on the road Saturday evening.
"It was disappointing not to come away with three points, but I can't fault the fight and desire the team showed. We will regroup for out last regular season game on Wednesday." said head coach

In just the fifth minute of the match, a goal scored by sophomore
Ansley Douty (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) put the Trojans on the board. Anderson's defensive efforts kept the Eagles scoreless in the first half, with the Trojans leading 1-0. Carson-Newman responded with a late goal in the final minute of the match to even the score.
Goalkeeper
Aliyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.), recorded eight saves on the match while the Trojans offense tallied five shots with three coming on goal. Carson-Newman held the edge in corner kicks, finishing with four over Anderson's three.
The Black and Gold travel to Newberry on Wednesday Nov. 5 to round out regular season play. The match is slated for 5 p.m.
