ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson (8-4-1, 5-3 SAC) women's soccer team posted another clean sheet victory over conference opponent Lincoln Memorial (6-5-4, 2-4-3 SAC) after a defensive battle on the pitch at home on Saturday evening.

In a tightly contested first half of the match, both teams showcased strong defensive play, combining for eight fouls before heading into halftime with the score still 0-0. Anderson entered the second half strong, with the lone goal on the match scored by freshman
Gabrielle Kirchner (Lavallette, N.J), recording her first career goal after capitalizing on a free kick opportunity by senior
Carly Keuffer (Mason, Ohio) in the 74th minute.
The Trojans lead the match with 13 shots, six on target, and six corner opportunities. Redshirt-sophomore
Aliyah Morgan (Fort Myers, Fla.) tallied four saves on the pitch, recording her seventh shutout of the season.
"I am so happy we were able to secure a win for out seniors on senior night. They have done so much to build this program on and off the field, and we will continue to look to their leadership as we make a final push through the end of the season."
The Black and Gold begin their final two-game road series on Saturday Nov. 5 when they travel to Carson-Newman. The game is slated for 5 p.m.
