FRANKLIN SPRINGS, GA -- The Trojans got a 7-0 win over Emmanuel University on Wednesday afternoon to move to 3-0 on the fall season.
The Trojans earned the doubles point on wins by
Gigi Sompayrac (Knoxville, Tenn.) and
Grace Weaver (Lake City, S.C.) in the No. 1 position 6-2 and
Alexandria Braithwaite (Oakville Ontario, Canada) and
Elena Ronconi (Salta, Argentina) in the No. 2 position 6-4.
Ensley Collins (Cleveland, Tenn.) and
Kate Johnson (Isle of Palms, S.C.) got a win by default on court three after an Emmanuel forfeit.
In singles, Sompayrac had a tough start at the No. 1 position, falling 6-0 in set one before coming back to take the next two sets by scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
Braithwaite didn't drop a point at court two, going 6-0, 6-0.
Collins went to three sets on court three, splitting scores of 4-6 and 6-2 and winning on a super tiebreak 10-8.
Ronconi battled for a three-set win, falling 6-7 in set one and taking set two 6-4. She won the tiebreak 11-9.
Johnson finished out the singles scoring for the Trojans with two 6-1 victories.
Morris won her match by default due to an Emmanuel forfeit.
The Trojans are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 29 at Truett McConnell at 11 a.m.
