EMORY, VA -- The Trojans got their eighth win in their first game of 2025, topping Emory & Henry 89-69. Anderson moves to 8-5 overall and 4-5 in the South Atlantic Conference with the win.
The Wasps put up a fight in the first half, down just 41-40 at the end of the first 20 minutes. The Trojans broke away in the second half, opening on a 12-2 run to pave the way to the 20-point win.
"Proud of the energy and attention to detail on the defensive end we showed in the 2nd half," head coach
Jimmie Williams said. "They are a really good offensive team that presents a lot of problems making it a tough scout. I've always been a big believer a team shows their character and commitment in how they play following the break. We had a really good week of practice and it translated to how we played on the road in a tough place to play. Bigtime game from multiple guys. AJ with 10 assists and zero turnovers was huge. Cole Dallas and Webb were big on both ends as well. Ian and Malachi gave a big boost off the bench. Total team effort. I love this team."
Anderson shot well above their season average with a 59.7 field goal percentage and 58.8 3-point percentage.
Austin Webb (South Point, Ohio) dropped just one-shy of his season-high with 27 points on 12-15 shooting from the field. He tacked on six rebounds.
Dallas Jones (Gainesville, Fla.) came up with 18 points, six rebounds and three assists.
Cole Middleton (Atlanta, Ga.) put up 17 points and a team-high nine rebounds. He also came up with three blocks and two steals.
AJ Wright Jr. (Tampa, Fla.) had a double-double of 10 points and a career-high 10 assists with four steals.
Malachi Reeves (Lexington, S.C.) and
Case Roach (Travelers Rest, S.C.) came off the bench for six and five points, respectively.
The Trojans are back home on Wednesday, Jan. 8th to open a three-game homestand against Newberry College. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
