ANDERSON, SC -- The Trojan volleyball team gave home fans a gritty 3-2 win over Tusculum University on Saturday afternoon by scores of 25-20, 26-28, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-10. Anderson moves to 6-7 overall and 3-3 in the South Atlantic Conference with the win.
The Trojans struggled to fully put the Pioneers away, giving away an 11-point lead in the second set but getting a comeback of their own in the third. There were a total of 35 tie scores and 16 lead changes in the contest.
Four Trojans posted double-digit kills, led by sophomore
Ava Reeves with 21. She tacked on one ace and three blocks along with 14 digs.
Sophomore
Emily Campbell had 16 kills on a .419 hitting percentage with four blocks and five digs.Â
Freshman
Mia Elder continued her mid-season breakout with a career-high 10 kills and one block.
Senior
Brantley Chipley added an efficient 10 kills on a .308 hitting percentage.Â
The Trojans head to Limestone University for a rematch with the Saints on Tuesday, Oct. 8th at 7 p.m. before a four-game homestand begins next Friday, Oct. 11th.
