Volleyball Gets Ninth Straight Win in Straight Sets Over Emory & Henry

EMORY, VA -- The Trojans continued to tear through the second half of their schedule on Friday night with a 3-0 win over Emory & Henry by scores of 25-17, 25-19 and 25-23. Anderson moves to 14-7 and 10-3 in the South Atlantic Conference where they sit at fourth place as the season begins to wind down.

The Trojans outplayed the Wasps on offense and defense, hitting .234 and coming up with 62 total digs.

Sophomore Emily Campbell led the Trojan offense with 11 kills and just one error with a .400 hitting percentage. She broke the top five in the SAC in kills with 215 so far this season.

Graduate student Libby Nieporte had a season-high seven kills, eight digs and one block.

Senior Brantley Chipley added seven kills on a .316 hitting percentage and two blocks while sophomore Karley Black added seven killls of her own.

Junior Katy Smith and senior Hannah Neff had 15 digs each. Sophomore Ellie Nieporte had 43 assists.

"I was pretty pleased with our setting decisions and overall team efficiency," head coach Todd Hay said. "However, we have to be more consistent at applying our practice principles into the match and we aren't always using those at the level I would like to see. We need to be better if we hope to make some noise down the stretch. I know we can be much better than we are currently playing."

Anderson in on the road again on Tuesday, Oct. 29th to take on Mars Hill for the second time this season at 6 p.m. The Trojans swept the Lions at home earlier this season.
