Trojans Take Down Emmanuel in Five Sets For Sixth Straight Win

ANDERSON, SC -- The Trojans got a five-set win over a solid nonconference opponent in Emmanuel University, who is currently undefeated in the Conference Carolinas, by scores of 26-28, 25-21, 25-17, 17-25, 17-15. Anderson is now on a six-game winning streak and moves to 11-7 overall with the win.

"When we were 12 points into set one, it already felt like it was going to be a long night.  Usually when this happens, the team that makes fewer unforced errors down the stretch usually comes out on top," head coach Todd Hay said. "Really happy for the team to pick up this hard fought victory."

Senior Brantley Chipley stepped up for the Trojans with a career-high 17 kills with a .536 hitting percentage.

Sophomore Emily Campbell followed up her huge night from yesterday with a big 15 kills, five blocks and two aces.

Junior Kaitlyn Barrett tied her career-high with 13 kills while sophomore Ava Reeves came up with 14 kills and 14 digs.

Sophomore setter Ellie Nieporte, who leads the conference in assists per set, was just one short of her career-high with 60.

Junior Katy Smith added 24 digs.

The Trojans hit the road for the first time in four games this Friday, Oct. 18th as they head to Coker University for a 7 p.m. matchup.
