ANDERSON, SC -- The Trojans played their most consistent game of the season to earn a 3-0 sweep over Mars Hill on Saturday afternoon. The win takes the Trojans to a record of 9-7 and 6-3 in the South Atlantic Conference where they sit at fourth place. 

Anderson topped their season-best hitting percentage from last night with an average of .457. They were in control of the game from start to finish, with just one lead change in all three sets. 

"Today was our most complete match of the year from start to finish," head coach Todd Hay said. "Ellie was making some good decisions on her sets and our hitters were finding the floor. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come as we work our way through the middle of the schedule."

Defensively, the Trojans came up with 40 digs led by Ava Reeves with 11 and Katy Smith with six. 

Junior Kaitlyn Barrett had a career day on offense, with a career-high 13 kills on just one error and a .600 hitting percentage. 

Reeves added 12 kills on a career-high .500 hitting percentage. Sophomore Emily Campbell added eight kills on a .438 hitting percentage and four blocks. Senior Brantley Chipley added six kills. 

Sophomore Ellie Nieporte, who leads the SAC in assists per set with 10.11, came up with 42 assists on the day. 

Looking ahead, the Trojans have another three-game week beginning when they host Newberry College on Tuesday, Oct. 15th at 7 p.m.
