Box Score SALISBURY, N.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team finished Saturday's (Sept. 18) contest at the Catawba College Indians in a 1-1 draw.
It was a scoreless first half of play, but both teams were able to create scoring opportunities as the Trojans outshot the Indians five to three. Just before halftime, Martin Carpena had a shot on goal that was saved by Catawba goalkeeper Gianluca Tommasi.
In the 67th minute, Eloy Allimadi found the back of the net off a through ball delivered by Bryce Goodwyn, as he angled the ball to the far post to give the Trojans a 1-0 lead. However, in the 86th minute the Indians answered back with a goal of their own by Salano Birch. Both defenses held strong for the remainder of the match, leading to a 1-1 draw.
