Box Score ANDERSON, S.C. – The Anderson University men's soccer team picked up their third consecutive win on Wednesday (Oct. 6) with a 4-0 clean sheet victory over the Erskine Flying Fleet.
It was a rainy evening at Spero Financial Field, as both teams took a while to get adjusted to the weather conditions. In the 34th minute, the Trojans were able to get on the scoreboard when Agustin Ortiz played a great through ball to Alexandre Cox-Ashwood for the goal.
Early in the second half, Anderson scored their second goal as off a deflection, Joao Martinho was at the right place at the right time to power a shot into the back of the net for his first goal of the season. Anderson continued to pour it on in the 65th minute when Harry Ward assisted on a goal by Tre Jackson. Ben Lemen scored the fourth and final goal of the night for the Trojans in the 78th minute.
This win marked the third consecutive clean sheet victory for Anderson. Goalkeeper Neko Crist played all 90 minutes and recorded two saves on the evening. Offensively, Anderson outshot Erskine 17 to two.
The Trojans will be back in action on Saturday (Oct. 9) as they travel to face Carson-Newman. Game time is set for 7:30 PM, with video and live stats available at www.autrojans.com.
