Box Score NEWBERRY, S.C –Anderson University men's soccer could not overcome the early goal falling in its first South Atlantic Conference match to Newberry, 1-0, on Wednesday afternoon at the Smith Road Soccer Complex.
With the loss, the Trojans drop to 1-3 overall and 0-1 in SAC action while the Wolves move to 3-3-1 overall and 2-0 in conference play.
Newberry's Eric Brody finished off a pass from Daniel Reyes just inside the 2nd minute of action.
Anderson outshot Newberry for the match 22 (7) – 14 (7) with Newberry holding the slight edge, 5-4, on corner kicks.
Anderson's Gal Elyashiv was credited with six saves on the night while Newberry's keeper Jacob Williams had seven stops.
The Black and Gold continue with conference action when they return home to host Mars Hill on Saturday. Kick-off is slated for 7:30 p.
