ANDERSON, S.C. - Seniors Dan Bowers and Lasse Sohrweide each scored two goals and an assist to help lead the Anderson men's soccer team to a 4-1 South Atlantic Conference win past Lenoir-Rhyne Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

Anderson (3-2, 1-0 SAC) has now won nine straight at home and is 10-1 overall at Trojan Stadium since the venue opened last season. The Trojans opened a four-match homestand by earning its second consecutive win past the Bears after shutting out L-R, 1-0, in the quarterfinals of last season's league tournament.

Lenoir-Rhyne slipped to 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference.

Sohrweide opened the scoring in the 19th minute with a dazzling header from 10 yards out after Bowers posted a well-placed cross from the right side of the pitch. Less than six minutes later, it was Bowers turn to find the back of the net as he flicked the ball just off the outstretched hands of the L-R goalkeeper from nearly point-blank range.

The Bears trimmed the AU lead to a single score when senior Daniel Jones took a cross from teammate Stefano Basso and his shot at the 27:30 mark found its way just inside the right post.

But Anderson's Sohrweide answered with his team-leading fifth goal of the season at the 36:32 mark to put the Trojans back ahead, 3-1, and the teams went to halftime with the AU lead at two.

The duo of Bowers and Sohrweide teamed up again for the final score of the match in the 52nd minute when Bowers capitalized by scoring when Sohrweide's shot deflected off the Lenoir-Rhyne keeper.

Sohrweide posted eight shots on the afternoon, while senior Ryan Messick added five and Bowers fired four. Anderson held a 21-10 advantage in shots, including a 10-4 edge in shots on goal. The Trojans posted seven corner kicks, while L-R recorded two.

Junior goalkeeper Lukas Hesse earned the win while going the distance between the pipes for AU and collecting three saves, while sophomore Stefan Dill absorbed the loss for Lenoir-Rhyne, while recording six saves.

Anderson gets back in action Tuesday when Francis Marion invades Trojan Stadium. Kick-off versus the Patriots is scheduled for 5 p.m.
