ANDERSON, S.C. - Senior James Moseley's goal with 6:09 remaining in the second overtime lifted the No. 9 Anderson men's soccer team to a dramatic hard-fought, 2-1, win past Tusculum in South Atlantic Conference action Saturday afternoon at Trojan Stadium.

Anderson (11-2, 6-0 SAC) extended its school-record win streak to nine matches and has won 11 of its last 12, while Tusculum (5-7-1, 4-1 SAC), which shut out 13th-ranked Clayton State a week ago, suffered its first conference loss and had its unbeaten streak snapped at six. AU has claimed 13 of 14 contests since beginning play at Trojan Stadium last season.

The Trojans held an impressive 22-6 advantage in shots over the Pioneers, including the only five shots in the two extra frames, but were unable to capitalize except for the early minutes of the match and in the second extra frame.

Senior midfielder Scott Clapperton gave Anderson an early 1-0 edge with his first goal of the season in the 12th minute of action off an assist from Mark Smith, but Javier Portillo answered for the Pioneers two minutes later with his third goal of the season to even the score.

Neither team was able to score for the next 90 minutes of action, until Smith's assist set up Moseley's heroics, stretching AU's home win streak to 12.

Junior goalkeeper Lukas Hesse garnered three saves while earning the win, while Andy Goellner suffered the loss after surrendering his first goal in the past six matches.

Anderson will get back on the pitch Wednesday, when the Trojans play host to SAC opponent Newberry. Kick-off is slated for 4 p.m. at Trojan Stadium.
