HICKORY, N.C. -- The Trojans suffered an 8-5 loss to No. 2-seeded Lenoir-Rhyne on Wednesday afternoon in the South Atlantic Conference Semifinals. Anderson finishes the 2026 season with an overall record of 12-7.
The Trojans did not go down easy, coming back from a 4-1 deficit at the at the start of the second quarter and tying things up coming out of the locker room at halftime to tie things 5-5 after a flurry of three goals in five minutes.
The Bears answered with their sixth goal of the day to push the score to 6-5 going into the fourth quarter.
They went up 7-5 to start the fourth before a lightning delay stopped play. The Trojans were unable to rally coming out of the break, while the Bears put away their final goal of the day 8-5.
Anderson was led by the recently-named Midfielder of the Year
Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) with three points on two goals and one assist along with five ground balls, three caused turnovers and one draw control.
Sophomore
Ellie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.), junior
Rayne Dobson (Houston, Texas) and freshman
Chloe Jones (Suwanee, Ga.) rounded out the scoring for the Trojans with one goal each.
Junior
Amelia King (Dacula, Ga.) was a force on defense with a season-high eight saves.
Junior
Christina DiLegge (Bay Shore, N.Y.) also had a big day on defense with a career-high in both ground balls (five) and caused turnovers (four).
Sophomore
Abigail Metz (Wading River, N.Y.) had a career-high three caused turnovers with two ground balls.
