Anderson Battles Late, Falls 10-5 at North Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. – Anderson University baseball mounted multiple late-inning scoring pushes but ultimately fell 10-5 on the road Tuesday evening at Bob Stein Stadium. The Trojans produced all five of their runs across the final three innings, highlighted by a pair of home runs from designated hitter Levi Medford and a multi-extra-base-hit performance from third baseman Myles Denton.

After being held without a run through six innings, Anderson broke through in the top of the seventh. With two outs, Denton sparked the rally by driving a double into left field, his second hit of the night. On the next pitch, Medford delivered a towering two-run home run to left, bringing the score to 8-2 and giving the Trojans their first momentum of the game. The inning ended on a strikeout, but the swing marked a turning point for the Anderson offense.

In the ninth, Anderson mounted its strongest surge of the night. Denton reached on a walk to open the inning, and Medford followed by blasting his second home run of the game—this time to left-center—to cut the deficit to 10-4.

Riley Matthews kept the inning alive with a single to center, and after a fielder's choice, Adams Faucett drove a triple into right-center, scoring Ryan Iannuzzo from first and bringing Anderson within five.

Earlier, Faucett had also singled in the eighth as part of another scoring opportunity, but the Trojans stranded two runners in that frame. Anderson's first real chance came in the opening inning when Brooks Mauro reached on an error, but a flyout ended the early threat.

Denton finished the night 2-for-3 with two runs scored, while Medford went 2-for-4 with four RBI and two home runs. Faucett added two hits off the bench, including his late triple.

Despite the loss, Anderson's offense showed resilience, producing eight hits and generating scoring chances in each of the final three innings. The Trojans return to action later this week as they continue conference play.
