Women’s Tennis Drops Road Decision to Catawba in Regular Season Finale

SALISBURY, N.C.--Anderson Women's Tennis (15-6, 6-5) made the trip north to No. 6 Catawba (16-1, 10-0) for the final game of the regular season on Friday and came up short, falling 5-1 to the Catawba Indians. 

AU dropped the doubles points with Catawba winning Courts 1 and 2. In singles play, the hosts picked up straight-set wins on Courts 1, 2, 4 and 5 to clinch the victory. 

Claiming the Trojans' lone point on the afternoon was freshman Westlyn Morris (Inman, S.C.) who secured back-to-back sets on Court 6. With the win, Morris moves to 11-1 in singles play in her debut season. 

The Trojans will now travel to play Sumter on Wednesday (April15) before the South Atlantic Conference Championships (April 16-18) in Sumter, S.C.
