WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Anderson University Trojans Softball (27-7, 10-2 SAC) swept nonconference opponent Winston-Salem State (5-11, 2-4 CIAA), 8-2 and 11-0 on the road Tuesday afternoon for its final nonconference doubleheader of the 2026 season.

Sophomore
Chaney Crosby (Six Mile, S.C.) put the Trojans on the board early in the first with a double to center field for a single run before the Rams notched their first run of the game. A double to center field by senior
Carson Hobbs (Nicholson, Ga.) found the Trojans in the top of the second, bringing two Trojans home. Senior
Katie Morris (Valley, Ala.) blasted one over the fence to record her first homer of the season, driving in a single run. The fourth and sixth innings saw singles by junior
Kadence Barrick (Phenix City, Ala.) and Crosby to drive in two more before Winston-Salem added their second and final run to the board. Morris scored the final run of the game for Anderson on a sacrifice fly out in the top of the seventh.
Morris led the Trojans across the board after going 3-for-4 at bat with three runs and two RBI. Crosby followed close behind with three hits out of her four at bats while also tallying two RBI. In the circle for the Black and Gold was sophomore
Caroline Morgan (Silver Creek, Ga.) (2-0). The Silver Creek native pitched all seven innings to notch her second victory of the season. She tallied five strikeouts while allowing only two runs and a single walk for a 2.00 ERA.
The Black and Gold erupted at the plate in game two, boasting 10 runs in a single inning for the clean sheet victory. Senior
Shelby Bandt (Ft. Valley, Ga.) scored on a passed ball in the third to open the scoring for Anderson before the Trojans went on a 10-0 rally, ending the game in just five innings. The run saw singles by

Laney Price (Flowery Branch, Ga.) as well as freshmen
Lily Davenport (Wetumpka, Ala.) and
Jolie Davis (Anderson, S.C.). In addition, Hobbs boasted two doubles during the inning to plate three.
Carson Hobbs finished with a team leading three RBI after going 3-for-4 at bat and adding two runs to the Trojans final tally. Freshman pitcher
Kora Kilgore (Smithville, Tenn.) (7-3) boasted an incredible game from the mound. Pitching all five innings for her seventh victory in the circle, Kilgore posted seven strikeouts with two hits and no walks for a perfect 0.00 ERA.
The Trojans begin the new month on the road when they travel to Lenoir-Rhyne on Tuesday, April 7. The first game of the doubleheader is scheduled for a 2 p.m. start in Hickory, N.C.
