EMORY, Va. -- The Trojans earned a sweep over Emory & Henry on Saturday afternoon to move to 14-4 overall and 5-3 in the South Atlantic Conference.
The Trojans earned the doubles point with wins at courts two and three. Junior
Gigi Sompayrac (Knoxville, Tenn.) and sophomore
Ensley Collins (Cleveland, Tenn.) earned a 6-0 win at the No. 2 position while junior
Elena Ronconi (Salta, Argentina) and freshman
Westlyn Morris (Inman, S.C.) came up with a 6-1 win at the No. 3 position.
In singles, the Trojans got wins at courts one, five and six while the other three courts were up when the match was called.
Senior
Alexandria Braithwaite (Oakville Ontario, Canada) earned 6-2 and 6-0 wins at the No. 1 position.
At court five, sophomore
Mara Opre (Atlanta, Ga.) got perfect 6-0, 6-0 wins.
Morris followed suit at court six with 6-0, 6-0 wins of her own.
The Trojans are back home on Wednesday, April 1 when they host Newberry College at 1 p.m.
