ANDERSON, S.C.--Anderson Men's Lacrosse advanced to 9-1 on the season and 3-1 in South Atlantic Conference play this evening, earning another dominant victory with a 22-7 win over Tusculum (5-3, 1-3).
"Great team win tonight," said Head Coach Albert Mitchell. "Both sides of the ball executed at a high level, and we won the middle of the field."
The Black and Gold dominated the stat sheet, recording their fourth 70+ shot game of the season. The Trojans put 40 shots on target, scored 22 goals and totaled 17 assists on the night.
Leading the offensive efforts was Ryan Bitterman (Alpharetta, Ga.) who tallied four goals and two assists for six points, just ahead of Brodie Deutsch (Wilmington, N.C.) and Cole Sparks (West Islip, N.Y.) with five and four points respectively. Matthew Rodgers (Carmel, Ind.), Radyn Badraun (Mission Viejo, Calif.), Sean Archibald (Southbury, Conn.) and Brayden Bushnoe (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) also each contributed a trio of points as well.
Freshmen Jaden Riley (Fallston, Md.) recorded his first and second goals wearing the Black and Gold, while Landon Foshee (Huntersville, N.C.) and Ford Graham (Spring, Texas) both tallied their first career assists.
Defensively, the Trojans combined for 14 caused turnovers, led by Chris Czulada (Boynton Beach, Fla.) and Tyler Hodowanec (Reading, Pa.) who both recorded three. The defense also held the Pioneers scoreless in the first 15 minutes of play—the first shutout quarter by the Black and Gold so far this season.
At the X, Aiden Dixon (Forest Hill, Md.) and AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.) won 12-of-15 and 13-of-16 faceoffs respectively and combined for 18 groundballs.
In net for Anderson, Adin Laughlin (Wooster, Ohio) logged eight saves across three quarters, and Bobby Devenport IV (Grayslake, Ill.) added five saves in Q4.
The Trojans will continue SAC play this weekend, traveling to face No. 16 Catawba in Salisbury on Saturday (March 28). The game is scheduled for 3 PM.
