Fifteen Trojans Score as No. 2 Anderson Routes Emmanuel in Road Victory

FRANKLIN SPRINGS, Ga.--The No. 2 Trojans advanced to 7-0 this afternoon after a dominant 27-11 victory over Emmanuel (1-9) that saw 15 different players tally a goal in the contest. 

"Great to see a lot of guys contribute today," said Head Coach Albert Mitchell. "Proud of our strong start and thought we did a great job in the middle of the field." 

Anderson dominated from the opening whistle, winning the first quarter 12-3. Aiden Dixon (Forest Hill, Md.) and Jacob Watt (Greenville, S.C.) both found their first goals of the season in the opening 15. The Trojans carried their momentum into Q2, where Kevin Connolly (Hartwell, Ga.) also picked up his first goal of the campaign. The Trojans took a 19-5 advantage into halftime. 

The Trojans eased up in the second half, winning the period by an 8-6 margin and the game 27-11. 

AU's offensive efforts were led by Cooper Laughlin (Wooster, Ohio) and Ryan Bitterman (Alpharetta, Ga.) who each scored five apiece. Laughlin also recorded three assists for a team-high eight points. Cole Sparks (West Islip, N.Y.) contributed four assists, surpassing 100 career points wearing the Black and Gold. 

At the X, Dixon won 18-of-20 faceoffs taken and totaled 13 groundballs, one goal, one assist and one caused turnover. AJ Rush (Chantilly, Va.) won 14-of-20 FOs and tallied 11 groundballs, two assists and one caused turnover. 

Anderson put up season-high stat numbers in goals at 27, assists at 19, points at 46, shots at 81 and shots on goal at 52. Emmanuel's two keepers combined for 25 saves. 

The Black and Gold return to South Atlantic Conference play next week, hosting Wingate on Wednesday (March 18) and traveling to Coker on Saturday (March 21).
