ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson University Softball (11-3, 0-0 SAC) notched their 10th-straight victory of the season in an 18-0 and 17-0 sweep at home against nonconference opponent Johnson C. Smith (9-0, 0-0 CIAA) Wednesday afternoon.

The Trojans' bats were hot, tallying four singles, three doubles, one triple and three homers in the first game of the double header. At the bottom of the third, Senior
Carson Hobbs (Nicholson, Ga,) sent one out of the park, driving in two runs before senior
Lauren Brakovec (Farragut, Tenn.) blasted a homer to center field for two more Trojans to cross home plate. Freshman
Bella Harbour (Murfreesboro, Tenn) followed with AU's final home run of the game for a single run.
Harbour led the Trojans at bat in game one, notching her fourth home run of the season, going 3-for-4, driving in two runs for a .282 batting average. Junior
Kadence Barrick (Phenix City, Ala.) went 2-for-3 at bat with three runs and plating two runs. Brakovec went 3-for-3 with two runs and bringing two home. On the mound, senior
Katie Morris (Valley, Ala.) picked up her ninth win of the season, tallying nine strikeouts across five shutout innings.
Early in the nightcap, Brakovec blasted her second home run of the day, driving in three, before Barrick launched the Trojans' final homer to center field in the bottom of the second to bring home two more.
Hobbs led the Black & Gold to their game two victory at bat and on the mound. At the plate, she went 3-for-4 with four RBI, recording two doubles and a triple for a .311 batting average. In the circle, she pitched three innings during the short five inning game, recording her fourth win of the season, striking out six and allowing no runs over five innings. Barrick also went 2-for-2 at bat with three RBI on the game.
Anderson begins a six-game road stretch when they travel to nonconference opponent Erskine on Saturday, Feb. 28. First pitch is slated for 1 p.m.
