ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson volleyball (16-3, 10-1 SAC) returned home Friday evening for the first time in three weeks, opening a six-match homestand with a sweep over Emory & Henry University (1-16, 0-12 SAC) by scores of 25-19, 25-9, and 25-14. The victory marked the Trojans' 10th sweep of the season.
Anderson opened the match with a .341 hitting percentage in the first set to secure a 25-19 win. The Trojans took control in the second set, scoring 11 consecutive points en route to a 25-9 victory. Anderson carried that momentum into the third set, opening with a 6-0 run before closing out the match with a 25-14 win.
The Trojans finished with a .359 hitting percentage while limiting the Wasps to .069. Senior Ava Reeves (Lexington, S.C.) led Anderson with 11 kills, while senior Emily Campbell (Statesville, N.C.) added eight kills on a .615 hitting percentage. Freshman Caroline Tucker (Lexington, S.C.) and sophomore Kaydan Flowers (Statesville, N.C.) contributed six kills apiece.
Senior Ellie Nieporte (Boca Raton, Fla.) paced the Trojans with 17 assists, while junior Mia Bennett (Boiling Springs, S.C.) recorded a double-double with 14 assists and 12 digs. Sophomore Jamie Juhnevicz (Taylors, S.C.) also finished with 12 digs. Anderson tallied seven service aces, with Reeves and Campbell recording two each.
Anderson continues its homestand tomorrow, Saturday, Oct. 3, welcoming UVA Wise at 3 p.m.
