ANDERSON, S.C. – Anderson men's cross country team placed 8
th in one of the biggest Division II meets of the regular season at the Lucian Rosa Invitational in Kenosha, Wis. on Saturday morning.
"Our men had to deal with a lot of adversity this week with sickness plaguing us." said head coach Kevin Eagle. "I am extremely proud of how they raced when not feeling 100%. After beating several national ranked teams, we know we're in a good spot once we have everyone back. We have two weeks to lock in and get healthy before we tie the line again."
Finishing first for the Trojans and 28
th in the field out of 220, was redshirt-senior
Spain Vaughan (Greer, S.C.) while
Elliot Dotson finished 59
th (25:13:84) and Will Cronin coming in 64
th (26:02.77).
Scoring next for the Black and Gold was Grayson (Gibbons Simpsonville, S.C.) finishing 66
th (26:03.34), with
Nathan Smith (Danielsville, G.A.) following closely behind finishing 69
th (26:07.38). Rounding out the scoring for the Trojans was
Joey Tindale (Rock Hill, S.C.) finishing 77
th (26:16.55) and
Jack Barrett (Greenville, S.C.) 98
th (26:34.95).
The Trojans are back in action on Saturday, Oct. 11 at the UAH Charger Invitational in Huntsville, Ala. for the last regular season meet before the SAC Championships.
