GREENVILLE, S.C. -- Powered by a strong start from senior
Kennedy McGaha (Honea Path, S.C.) who fired an opening round 69 (-3), the No. 1 Anderson University women's golf team sitsatop the leaderboard after day one of the 2025 South Atlantic Conference Championships at the Preserve at Verdae.
The Trojans as a team finished -5 for the opening round to hold a seven-stroke lead over No. 3 Wingate, who sits in second at +2. Lincoln Memorial rounds out the top three teams at +4 with Limestone and Catawba hitting double digits in a tie for fourth at +11.
Junior
Kennedy Gooding (Lexington, S.C.) continued to show why she is ranked in the top-5 nationally individually as she turned in an opening round of 71 (-1) along with junior
Aly Francis (Stockbridge, Ga.) who matched that mark as well.
Senior
Zoey Iglesias (Port St. Lucie, Fla.) rounded out the countable scores on the day with an even-par round of 72. Junior
Paige Paolucci (Blythewood, S.C.) sits tied for 30th individually after opening her tournament with a 79 (+7).
