ANDERSON, S.C. -- The No. 4 Trojans suffered a heartbreaker on Saturday afternoon in a 14-13 overtime loss to No. 5 Lenoir-Rhyne. Anderson finishes the 2025 season with an overall record of 10-8 and a conference record of 8-4.
The Trojans struggled to gain offensive momentum early, while the Bears rolled to a 4-1 lead in the first quarter.
Ellie Wilkins (Chuluota, Fla.) had her first two of the day in to bring the score to 4-2 by the end of the first 15 minutes.
It was a game of momentum switches as the Trojans then went on a 6-0 run in the second and third quarters to take a 9-7 lead early in the second half. The Bears answered with their own 5-1 run before the Trojans tacked on three more.
The 13-12 lead wasn't enough as the Bears tied things up at 13 with just under two minutes to play.Â
The Trojans were only able to get one shot off in overtime and the ending goal came from the Bears four minutes into extra time. Anderson finished the day a perfect 15-15 in clears and converted six of eight free position shots. They also won the draw 17-13.
On defense,
Megan Muir (Bedford, N.H.) had a massive career-high of nine draw controls with six ground balls and four caused turnovers. She also converted one free position goal and had one assist.
Wilkins tied her career-high of five goals on the day.
Ava Skeffington (Charlotte, N.C.) was 4-4 from free position for four points in the loss.
Ava Scattareggia (Watervliet, N.Y.) had two goals and two assists.
