DAHLONEGA, Ga. – The Anderson University baseball team put up a determined effort against No. 22-ranked North Georgia but ultimately fell 10-4 in non-conference action on Monday evening.
The Trojans struck early, plating a run in the first inning to grab a 1-0 lead. However, North Georgia responded with a powerful offensive surge, scoring four runs in the fourth inning and adding three more in the fifth to take control of the game. Anderson fought back with two runs in the sixth to narrow the gap to 7-4, but North Georgia tacked on three more insurance runs in the seventh to secure the victory.
Anderson's offense was led by Braeden Harrison, who went 3-for-4 with a triple and an RBI. Carson Molinaroli also contributed with a hit and a run scored.
North Georgia's offensive push was powered by home runs from Andrews Opata, Phillip Ard, and Bryson Stripling, helping the Nighthawks claim the win.
The Trojans return to conference play this weekend as they make the trip to Harrogate, Tenn. to take on the Railsplitters of Lincoln Memorial. The three-game series is slated to start at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, April 4.
