Trojans Down Limestone 12-8 Under Lights of Fluor Field

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The Anderson University Trojans delivered an offensive showcase in a commanding 12-8 victory over the Limestone Saints on Tuesday night. Anderson's bats were hot from the start, tallying 13 hits and capitalizing on defensive miscues by Limestone to improve their record to 17-10 overall.

The Trojans wasted no time getting on the scoreboard, striking for four runs in the top of the first. Ben Bullard provided the early fireworks with a bases-clearing double, driving in three runs, while Gray Wells followed with an RBI single to push the lead to 4-0.

Limestone responded with three runs in the bottom of the first and added two more in the second to take a brief 5-4 lead. Anderson quickly answered in the third, as Brooks Mauro led off with a single, later scoring on a clutch RBI double by Kyle Caccamise to tie the game at 5-5.

The Trojans took control in the fourth inning with a three-run burst. Braeden Harrison opened the frame with a double and later scored on a two-run double from Mauro. Ben Bullard followed with an RBI fielder's choice, extending Anderson's lead to 9-5.

In the fifth, Anderson added three more runs, capitalizing on a Limestone throwing error and a sacrifice fly by Harrison. Zach Stover then reached on an error, allowing another unearned run to cross the plate, making it 12-5.

While Limestone managed to push across three runs in the ninth, Corben Childers (S, 3) shut the door, securing the victory for Anderson. Pitcher C. Costa (1-1) earned the win in relief, striking out three over two scoreless innings.

Harrison led the offense with a 2-for-5 performance, including a double and a sacrifice fly. Mauro, Bullard, and Caccamise each contributed multiple RBIs.

The Trojans return to action this weekend as they welcome Carson-Newman to Anderson Memorial for a three game conference series.
