NEWBERRY, S.C. — Anderson Softball (15-13, 1-5 SAC) and Newberry (13-18, 3-3 SAC) each claimed a victory in Wednesday's doubleheader at the Smith Road Complex, with the Trojans winning the opener 9-4 before the Wolves responded with a 7-5 victory in the nightcap.
A five-run sixth inning propelled Anderson to victory in Game 1, as the Trojans collected 10 hits. Junior
Jenna Davis led the offense, going 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI, while Sophomore
Kadence Barrick drove in two runs. Junior
Katie Morris (7-6) earned the win, allowing four runs (three earned) on five hits across five innings.
Newberry was paced by Maddy Staples, who homered and drove in two runs. Lindsey Foster (6-7) took the loss, surrendering nine runs (six earned) over 5.1 innings.
In Game 2, Newberry used a three-run sixth inning to secure a 7-5 victory. Samantha Clark led the way with two hits and two RBIs, while Natalie Wescott (6-5) pitched a complete game, scattering 13 hits while allowing five runs.

Maggie Nauck powered Anderson's offense with a three-run home run and a sacrifice fly, while junior

Anderson returns to action when it hosts South Atlantic Conference opponent Carson-Newman on Friday. First pitch of the doubleheader is slated for 1pm.
