BOCA RATON, Fla.--After defeating No. 10 Lincoln Memorial on Friday afternoon in the First Round of the NCAA Championships, No. 7 Anderson faced defending National Champions, No. 2 Lynn on Sunday and fell to the Fighting Knights by a score of 2-0. The loss marks only the second of the season for the Black and Gold, as they round out the season with an overall record of 11-2-6.
The match was scoreless after the first 45, with Lynn tallying six first-half shots to Anderson's two. The host team also earned five corner kicks in the opening period, while the Trojans drew none.
Following the break, the Fighting Knights opened the scoring, putting two on the board in the 51st and 52nd minute of the match. Despite the Trojans' efforts, the quick deficit proved too much to overcome for AU. Lynn advanced with the 2-0 victory.
The game marks the end of one of the best seasons in Anderson Men's Soccer history, as the Trojans won the regular season title and advanced to the second round of the national tournament, both for only the second time.
Head Coach Michael Zion was named South Atlantic Conference Coach of the Year, eclipsing the 100-win mark as leader of the Black and Gold. Zion ends the season with 103 victories as head coach, tied for the most by any head coach in program history. Anderson also earned a program-best nine All-Conference honorees, including five First-Team selections and Defensive Player of the Year in Franco Antoniolli (Cardoba, Argentina).
Despite the loss, the 2025 season was one for the history books.
