DAHLONEGA, GA. – After earning a bid into the NCAA Div. II Women's Soccer Tournament for the first time in program history, the Anderson University women's soccer program (11-6-2) capped a historical season with a heartbreaking 3-1 loss to North Georgia (18-2-1).
"I couldn't be more proud of this group and their historical season." said head coach
Sarah Jacobs.
The Trojans strong defense held the Nighthawks scoreless in the first half until a late goal was scored by UNG in the 37
th minute. Another goal scored in the 41
st minute gave the Nighthawks a 2-0 lead as they rounded out the first half.
A goal scored by UNG in the 74
th minute advanced the Nighthawks lead to 3-0 before Anderson responded with a goal by Senior
Camryn Woods (Bettendorf, Iowa) off a pinpoint long ball over the top from the opposite end by senior
